A Waldorf education prepares children for adulthood and provides them with the knowledge and skills they need to thrive, not only in the academic sense, but in all aspects of their lives.  The government curriculum is covered, but in a way that gives pupils a far deeper understanding of the way our world works, and the trade-offs we have had to make when we became an industrialised civilisation.  Children experience many practical aspects of life and receive a far broader, more wholesome education than that offered by conventional schools.  They typically also achieve excellent results in their matric exams, and go on to succeed in tertiary education and in their working lives thereafter.

Imhoff Waldorf High School will grow year by year, until 2011’s class 8 reaches matric in 2016 (matric is offered in year 13, after the full 12-year Waldorf curriculum has been completed).  The school will develop its own unique focus as it grows, in interaction with its community.  Input is welcomed at all levels, and a working group has been formed in which interested parties are welcome to participate.
